KATY MILLS HOMEPAGE

      Katy will...

  • Craft a storytelling performance to compliment any curriculum or event.

  • Create excitement about the art of storytelling.

  • Promote literacy to all children.

Katy was introduced to the world of performance, music and pantomine at an early age as her father was a singer, performer and musician. She cannot remember a time when she has not been indulging her love of stories.

Katy has been storytelling professionally since 1999 and has a wide repertoire. Her costumed performances can be tailored to suit any occasion, any place, any audience. Her performances use a mixture of chant, rhyme, story and music.

Katy tells to all audiences, young and old, using props, music and puppets. Katy has told in schools, festivals, libraries, concerts, gala days, Teddy Bears picnics, private functions. She also crafts heritage and historic stories for special heritage events.

Katy tells stories to encourage and entertain. She is dedicated to sharing her love of storytelling.

"WHAT PEOPLE HAVE SAID!"

"Thank you so much for coming and telling us wonderful stories as part of our Book Week programme. The children thoroughly enjoyed your show. Hope we can have you back again."

Ellerslie Primary School, Auckland

"Katy has a delightful sense of humour which she is able to communicate to her audience. When she tells stories that are more serious she holds her audience just as attentive. You will be delighted with the variety of material she offers and I can recommend her without hesitation."
Maggie McLaurin, Mentor, NZ Guild of Storytellers
Professional Storyteller for over 20 years.

"We are delighted to endorse any opportunities you have for storytelling after having you take part in our annual Storylines Festival at the Aotea Centre. Your Storytelling Room was a place of great entertainment and fun for children and adults."
